Setlists are attributed setlist.fm archive observations, not verified complete concerts. Each detail links to its concert record and original source. Release dates use a separately reviewed first-Stones-release map; every mapped song links to release evidence; the full reviewed reference list is paginated below.

We count each distinct non-playback song identity once per record. A cover’s date is its first official Rolling Stones release, in any territory—not the original artist’s release or the writing date. Remasters and later bonus editions do not reset a song’s age.

Dates recorded only as a year or month remain date intervals. We subtract their earliest and latest possible dates from the show date, average those bounds equally across dated songs, and show approximate whole years. The displayed midpoint is not a precisely known date. Years use 365.2425 days; mean release year uses the same included songs.

Only records with every included entry resolved and at least one dated song receive an average. Medleys and explicitly reviewed Billy Preston guest solo spots are excluded from the standalone Stones songs average, with an exclusion count and labelled song rows. The original setlist is retained. Definite unreleased-at-show songs are also listed separately and excluded; unknown dates, unidentified entries and release intervals overlapping a show prevent plotting. Playback is excluded. We do not infer that unlisted songs were absent. Date coverage does not prove setlist completeness.

Song age increases naturally as time passes. The Release year view helps distinguish elapsed time from a change in repertoire. No line joins the dots or fills gaps in archive coverage.

Coverage by tour

A record without a stored setlist cannot have an average. Unresolved songs and release-date intervals can also hold a result; neither means the concert did not happen.
